Gutta Boon Vase by Noom

Gutta Vase, designed by NOOM's co-founder and chief designer Kateryna Sokolova, pays respect to the ancient glassblower-artist technique of "guta." This innovation, rooted in the times of the Kyivan Rus, was a driving force behind Sokolova's goal to showcase the unique properties of glass and create simplistic but striking objects that capture the essence of frozen movement.

Crafted by skilled glasssmiths in Lviv, one of Ukraine's cultural hubs, these vases embody contemporary aesthetics while honoring traditional craftsmanship and techniques. As Sokolova puts it, "My work centers around the interplay of simplicity, pure lines, and material. I enjoy working with dynamic materials, pushing the boundaries, and reimagining them in a modern design.  The curvaceous form of Gutta Vase embodies the enigmatic forces of nature and a sense of rhythm. Each vase is hand-blown, adding to its charm and distinctiveness."
