The Saarinen Tulip Table is one of the most iconic pieces in the Eero Saarinen furniture collection. Created in 1957, the beautiful Saarinen Table embodies the thought and theory behind one of the 20th century's great architects. Constructed of cast aluminum, the Saarinen table flows from top to bottom and from side to side in a fluid exchange of lines.
Eero Saarinen started designing furniture in his teens, but it wasn't until he won first place in 1940 in the Museum of Modern Art's Organic Design in Home Furnishings that he would be seen as a serious industrial designer. Though the plywood chair that he designed with Charles Eames for the competition was never put into production, it did allow him to further his career in furniture design.
Our Saarinen Tables are a masterful reproduction of the original Saarinen table made in Italy. Close attention is paid to the workmanship of the stone and base, resulting in a modern classic table that is designed to last for years. The Saarinen table base is available in matte white or black, glossy white or black, or matte silver. The Saarinen tabletop is available in a wide variety of stones and laminates, including the ever-popular white Arabescato and black Marquina. The base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs. Saarinen Table stone tops are protected with a natural wax finish.
